F1 KERS Chess Set

F1 KERS Chess Set - On Lit Glass with Leather Frame

RED BULL 9 Chess Set

The contemporary chess set comprising of polished cylindrical KERS components are mainly from the RB9 Red Bull Racing Formula One car.

Designed by Adrian Newey for the 2013 Campaign, the RB9 won 13 of the 19 races and Sebastian Vettel had a dominant 9 race winning run, mid season, which helped him become a 4 time World Champion and the same goes for the Constructors title.

Although Red Bull racing opted to not run the optional KERS technology when available in 2009, they preferred to wait until it was perfected and proved to be a benefit.

They successfully integrated into the RB7 Championship winning car. KERS stands for Kinetic Energy Recovery System and in simple terms, it is a device that can recover wasted energy and utilise it for a controlled performance gain. Within the rules.

These chess set KERS components are called Bond Check Cells (by the Team) and their part number is RB9-KT-00349.

Multiple variants are used in the chess set along with pieces of the hydraulic system, race winning wheel hub parts and other interesting F1 pieces to create the chess set characters. The components have been hand/machine polished and then lacquered to help protect them during their new life as tactical game pieces.

Mounted on an illuminated glass playing surface with black leather upholstered frame and carry case for all playing pieces. Created in collaboration with Racing Gold.

Comes with a certificate of authenticity signed by Christian Horner and Adrian Newey.
