The Authentic Components Used

RB5-RS-01595 – Wheel hub pin (12 used)

The bullet shaped pieces are wheel securing pins that locate the wheels to the

hubs on the Rear axle of the RB5 -2009 year F1 car. These locate the wheel and

transmit the 1000 bhp by sharing the energy between normally 5 or 6 pins per

wheel, along with the nut that secures the wheel. These can be seen during a

race pit stop but you will have to quick as they are around 2 seconds to change

all 4 wheels. The pins contribute to a fast stop as they guide the wheel into the

hub in a near perfect scenario. The RB5 was the first of the Adrian Newey

designed Red Bull Racing cars.

The RB5 won 6 of the races in the 2009 season, secured the first ever pole

position & 1-2 finish for the Team.

RB6-FS-00299 (ranging up to 00310) Torsion Spring – Front Axle (12 used)

These incredible torsion springs are hidden inside the bodywork of the F1 car,

close to the drivers feet. Via a series of linkages and rockers, these springs twist

at a pre-designed rate to carry the weight of the car under incredible loads.

These are not only more compact than a traditional coil spring, just as important

is that they can be swapped out during Friday & Saturday practise sessions to

find the ideal set up for the driver and track. The splines seen at each end are

critical as one end is fixed to the chassis and the other linked to the movingsuspension. Each one is a slightly different diameter & therefore strength/

stiffness & the are also sided left & right hand.

RB6 FS-01643-01 front suspension bolt (48 used)

These bolts connect the carbon fibre wishbones to the metal joints and are

incredibly important. Designed to pull into a fixed aperture, this design means it

locks into position so only a single nut is required to secure the components. This

speeds up the replacement of the parts & lowers unsprung weight.

Each bolt is given a unique number etched after the number seen above. This

allows the team to track the bolt so the race time can be monitored and also

allows the team to monitor issues if a weakness is found in a batch of parts. This

part will automatically be retired after a controlled amount of race time/laps.

The RB6 was a great evolution of the race winning Rb5. The RB6 went on to win

9 races and this helped secure the drivers & constructors World Championships

in 2010. An amazing car.
